On International Women’s Rights Day, Desfilis Avocats had the honor of welcoming Marie-Pierre Lacabarats, Executive Director of the association Lire Pour en Sortir, and Camille Racine, PhD, Literary Director at La Bête Noire, for a literary breakfast based on the book Histoires de Femmes.
Histoires de Femmes is a book published by Éditions Robert Laffont and a bold initiative, born out of an exceptional collaborative effort between inmates at Roanne prison and author Delphine de Vigan, journalist Elvira Masson, poet and slam artist Lisette Lombé, and former convict and writer Fabrice Rose. The result is a collection of poignant stories by female prisoners exploring their history and resilience through writing.
Moderated by our associate Marion Kahn Guerra, these exchanges provided an enriching space for discussion on a crucial but often overlooked subject: the reality of prison life for women in France and their journey towards reintegration.
We would like to express our gratitude to Marie-Pierre Lacabarats and Camille Racine, PhD, for their energy and wonderful commitment.
This literary breakfast was a powerful testament to literature’s ability to transform lives and raise awareness.
It reinforced our commitment to supporting women’s rights, every day, everywhere.
