Interview | Remote Work and Meal Vouchers: The Court of Cassation Confirms Employees’ Rights, Even from a Distance

The issue stirred up much debate among companies during the Covid lockdowns: were employees working 100% remotely entitled to receive meal vouchers?

 

Our partner,Marion Kahn-Guerraover her insight to BFM Business, on the decision handed down this Wednesday by the Court of Cassation, a ruling that puts an end to the controversy and the conflicting decisions between the Paris and Nanterre courts.

 

France's highest judicial court sided with the Paris Judicial Court, recognizing the right of remote workers to receive meal vouchers.

 

According to Marion Kahn-Guerra, the key condition set by the Court is that the employee’s meal must be included within their daily working hours. She points out that this position aligns with both the Ministry of Labour and the more recent stance of URSSAF.
