About
Dorothée de Bernis advises French and international clients on business litigation, assisting them in the resolution of their most complex and sensitive disputes.
Her practice covers commercial and corporate finance litigation, post-acquisition and disposal disputes, shareholder disputes, and contractual and tort liability claims, with particular emphasis on professional liability. She also handles corporate litigation, contract and competition law disputes, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings, and fraud matters, and advises clients on high-stakes estate and inheritance disputes.
Dorothée has developed expertise in banking litigation, acting for a client base of French and European banks and financial institutions.
She also has significant experience in arbitration and favours, wherever possible, a negotiated resolution of disputes, including through mediation. She assists her clients before civil and commercial courts, arbitral tribunals and regulatory authorities. This experience enables her to regularly assist clients in drafting and reviewing complex, business-critical contracts.
Drawing on a dual legal background in French and common law forged over seven years spent in the United Kingdom – including two years at Herbert Smith in London – Dorothée de Bernis brings her clients a great and pragmatic understanding of cross-border and international issues.
Dorothée also served as chair and vice chair for seven years of the international alliance MARCALLIANCE, co-founded by FORVIS MAZARS, the world’s fifth-largest audit firm.
