After recruiting four new partners in 2021, the firm continues to grow and announces the arrival of Sébastien SAYN-URPAR as a partner to strengthen its Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions practice.
Sébastien SAYN-URPAR, who comes from a family where law is second nature, having been a lawyer from father to son for several generations, has a rich academic background. Twice valedictorian, he is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law, Taxation and Accounting, as well as a DJCE (Diploma of Corporate Law) with a specialization in companies. With an international outlook, he completed his education with a Specialized Master’s degree in International Law and Management from HEC/ESCP Europe and, after his CAPA, a Master of Laws (LL.M) from McGill University.
He worked at Bredin Prat (2010-2011) and De Pardieu Brocas Maffei (2012-2020), where he gained solid experience and developed a recognized practice in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, before joining the Paris office of Fidal as a partner in the Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions department (2020-2022). With a particular interest in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring, combined with the specificities of the real estate sector, he successfully assists a clientele of mid-sized companies, executives, and family shareholders in national and international transactions.

Sébastien works primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate law, advising listed and unlisted companies on domestic and international transactions. Sébastien has particular expertise in M&A transactions involving real estate. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Law, Taxation, and Accounting from the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence and is a CAPA (Certificate of Aptitude for the Profession of Attorney) holder. He is also a graduate of the Institut de Droit des Affaires (I.D.A.) in Aix-en-Provence and holds a Specialized Master’s Degree in International Law and Management from HEC/ESCP Europe and an LL.M. from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). He was awarded a prize by the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence for being top of his class twice. Before joining Desfilis in 2022, he practiced at Bredin Prat (2010-2011), De Pardieu Brocas Maffei (2012-2020), and Fidal (2020-2022).
