Desfilis advised Japanese group IDEC on the acquisition of 80% of the shares in Ez-Wheel.
Specializing in autonomous electric wheels, Ez-Wheel developed the world’s first autonomous electric wheel in 2010 and the first safety drive wheel for mobile robots in 2020.
IDEC, a comprehensive manufacturer of control equipment, mainly in the field of factory automation, develops, manufactures, and sells a variety of products centered on HMI (human-machine interface), which connects people and machines, with control and safety technologies, and has been providing control solutions in various fields since its establishment.
Since the launch of Ez-Wheel products, demand for robots has been growing at IDEC Corporation, mainly from major automobile manufacturers.
Therefore, in order to respond to this growing demand, the acquisition of Ez-Wheel will enable IDEC Corporation to contribute to the development of joint work between robots and humans.
